Press Release
CLEARFIELD, Utah - 1 July 2010 - TopVue Defense, Inc., (TopVue), the leading small business provider of program execution solutions announced today the receipt of a contract with the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC HQ) at Los Angeles AFB to create and support a best practices laboratory for configuration management and data management.
The Best Practices Laboratory (BPL) embodies best practices for automating data and CDRL management processes (DM) and configuration management (CM) disciplines from various acquisition and sustainment program including SMC HQ programs and Army, Navy, NASA and others. It will be used to train program office contracts and engineering staff on how best to execute related processes from their business practice process documentation.
The BPL is a software system based on TopVue technology, which walks a user though CM and DM processes with tutorials and hands on software tool examples. The goal is to be able to 'certify' a staff member on basic CM and DM best practice techniques. The scope of exercises includes: data calls, CDRL package creation, CDRL scheduling, CDRL performer and reviewer support, deliverable submittal reviews and approvals, vendor performance oversight, management reporting, and configuration control board tracking.
"As the existing workforce plans for retirement a mechanism is needed to capture the corporate knowledge at SMC HQ on CM-DM best practices. The BPL will allow retention of best practices so it can be passed on to new hires to quickly enable productivity in the program office", states Bill Farr, CEO, TopVue Defense, Inc.
