CLEARFIELD, Utah – 30 August 2010 - TopVue Defense, Inc., (TopVue), the leading small business provider of program execution solutions announced today the receipt from the Patent and Trademark Office for a Notice of Allowance for a patent for new database technology.
TopVue’s new technology, code named ‘PDI-2010’ (for program data integration), will be initially focused on solutions to support program office execution.
The new architecture will allow for COTS-based rapid creation of integrated programmatic database views on a common data structure to support program manager-level decision support. PDI-2010 allows for the roll-up of data in the areas of: contract and deliverable data, cost data, schedule data, engineering data, schedule data, logistics data and custom data tracking.
This new technology translates to cost savings for DoD and contractor program offices as ‘custom’ databases can be generated uniquely to support a specific program need, but can be supported on a standard COTS maintenance basis. This COTS approach to program data management provides tailored data integration across program disciplines while maintaining interoperability with current investments in IDE, PLM, ERP technologies, and compatibility with DoD record management, content management, technical publication management and MIL-STD compliant data environments.
“For the last eight years we have been studying the problem of program data integration with our customers on Army, Navy, Air Force and other agency programs. Because each acquisition and sustainment program has critical data nuances, it becomes time consuming and costly to provide centralized database support for efficient decision making for program managers and program executives,” states Bill Farr, CEO and co-author of the patent. “This new technology provides a means to gather, store, roll up and report integrated data sets for a PM view integrated data.”
