ILSvue
ILSvue is a TopVue module designed to manage the configuration management of integrated logistics support (ILS) data for a system and its related technical publications. ILSvue addresses data management aspects of weapon systems supportability not only during acquisition, but also throughout the operational life cycle of the system.
Logistics Data Baseline. ILSvue can be implemented as a baseline tool and central repository for ILS data and technical publications or manuals (TM) for a system or end item. The type of data managed includes parts and indentured part breakdowns, reliability, maintainability, maintenance (preventive, predictive and corrective) planning, supply (spare part) support, support and test equipment, support manpower and personnel, and training support.
Technical Publication Library. In ILSvue each end item and its technical publication(s) or manual(s) (TM) are tracked. ILSvue is not intended to be the authoring system for a TM. Rather it is focused on the configuration management of the ILS data, part indenture, spares and illustrations in the TM.
Information about a TM is tracked in ILSvue via a ‘tab view’. The tabs displayed for a TM show its relevant related data, including the TM properties, changes affecting it, files, relations to parts, contracts, CDRLs, routings, etc.
Change Control. Changes to TMs are tracked by identifying requests for change, performing impacts on engineering and logistics data, tracking the forms to authorize the actual changes to TMs, and executing reviews via workflows. When the change is ready to be reviewed, a workflow ‘routing’ can be launched to manage the change review process. The ILSvue routings keep track of review actions, due dates for the reviewers, comments per reviewer and approval / concurrence records.
File Management. The electronic files, which represent a TM, such as indentured parts lists, graphic files and SGML/XML files can be a challenge to manage. ILSvue provides tools to help manage this data, including a file folder view per TM.
ILS CDRL Data. For contractual obligations the delivery of ILS data and TM data is typically accompanied with contract data requirements list (CDRLs). Each ILS CDRL describes the technical format of the ILS data, to whom it is delivered and at what timeframe. When integrated with TopVue’s CDRLvue system, ILSvue also keeps track of the related ILS CDRL information.
