AMF JTRS provides an excellent example of today's services that strive towards joint acquisition and processes.
AMF JTRS radio systems support Airborne, Maritime/Fixed, and Ground common operational requirements, providing simultaneous voice, data, and video communications between joint warfighting elements. These radio sets are software-reprogrammable and multi-band/multi-mode capable. The combined Air Force and Navy effort provides a common, joint acquisition approach, which maximizes the commonality of system components. In addition, both services will yield significant savings over the life of the systems.
TopVue provides the technology layer that supports this joint acquisition approach, from serving as a common-process repository, to managing the distribution and approval of vendor data deliveries, and strengthening collaboration ability between joint program members.
