Press Release
CLEARFIELD, Utah - March 9, 2007 - TopVue Defense, Inc., (TopVue), the leading small business provider of Contract execution and Configuration data management solutions announced today that the Joint Tactical Radio System Joint Program Executive Office (JTRS JPEO) in San Diego, CA chose TopVue’s products as the program’s central knowledge management (KM) system.
The Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) was initiated in 1997 to improve and consolidate the Services’ pursuit of separate solutions to replace legacy radios in the Department of Defense Inventory. The JTRS program is developing an open architecture of waveform technology that allows multiple radio types to communicate with each other. The program’s goals extend to U.S. allies, coalition partners and, in time to disaster response personnel. The JTRS JPEO reports directly into the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
The JTRS program is grouped into four domains with six ACAT1D programs. The Ground Domain consists of ground mobile radios for vehicles, and handheld, man pack radios and small form fit radios. The Airborne and Maritime Domain represents airborne, maritime and fixed-site (AMF) radios, and a multifunctional information distribution system (MIDS). The Network Enterprise Domain (NED) involves network enterprise services, including gateways and waveforms. The last domain is Special Radio Systems, which includes the JTRS enhanced multi band intra-team radio (MBTR), or JEM.
JTRS JPEO purchased TopVue’s software technology to be used as the central repository for the JPEO knowledge management initiative. TopVue will centralize multi-program collaboration on documents, action items, meetings, and calendars. TopVue also supports the Acquisition Directorate process for ‘milestone’ documentation approvals. Future implementations could include Risk Management, Contract Management and Configuration Management.
Other users of TopVue include: USAF SMC HQ - Site License, GPS, MILSATCOM, A-10, F-16, ICBM, AMF JTRS, Navy SATCOM, USN GBS, DoE-INL, Raytheon, Lockheed, Joint Cargo Aircraft program office, and others.
