U.S. Air Force Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Joint Program Office

Located at the Space and Missile Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, CA, the GPS joint-program office (JPO) supports technology with which everyone can identify.

Global positioning systems continue to revolutionize both defense and civilian applications, and GPS JPO is at this technology's forefront. There are currently over 15 programs and 26 active contracts supported by the GPS JPO.

The GPS program is responsible for developing and launching the satellites, maintaining and supporting the orbiting constellation, as well as developing and sustaining the operational control systems. The system provides the equipped user with precise position, velocity, and time data under all weather conditions and at any time of day. GPS user equipment sets operate passively, thus enabling GPS to provide navigation data to an unlimited number of users simultaneously.

TopVue is the core repository for all GPS programmatic configuration management and data management (CM-DM) data including specifications, ICDs, ECPs, CCBs, as well as for all contractor data requirements lists (CDRLs). Using TopVue, GPS contractors and data managers process hundreds of CDRL deliveries per year.
